Our Work

Collaborative Design in Development

Indigenous Futures Canada excels in collaborative design, partnering with organizations to refine and enhance programs involving Indigenous participants, such as interns, students, and delegates, especially in international contexts. We focus on creating culturally sensitive and enriching experiences that respect and incorporate Indigenous perspectives and wisdom. By doing so, we aim to bridge cultural gaps, foster mutual understanding, and ensure that Indigenous participants find value and meaning in their engagement, ultimately leading to more impactful and respectful international collaborations.

Advancing Technology for Localized SDG Measurements

Recognizing the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we support the development of technology that enables localized SDG measurements within Indigenous communities. This initiative aims to empower communities to monitor and report on their progress toward achieving SDGs in a way that is aligned with their cultural values and priorities. By providing technological tools and resources, we facilitate a more accurate and culturally relevant assessment of SDG achievements, fostering sustainable development that is both community-led and globally connected.

Fostering Indigenous Data Sovereignty

In the digital age, data sovereignty is a critical issue for Indigenous communities. Indigenous Futures Canada champions the integration of Indigenous data sovereignty principles, ensuring that data pertaining to Indigenous communities is collected, managed, and utilized in ways that respect their rights and autonomy. This involves advocating for policies and practices that recognize Indigenous ownership of data and support the use of data in ways that benefit Indigenous peoples, respecting their cultural sensitivities and governance structures.

Connecting Indigenous Communities with Funding Opportunities

We are actively working to develop technology that connects Indigenous communities with national and international funding opportunities and partners. This technology serves as a bridge, linking Indigenous projects with potential funders and collaborators who are committed to supporting Indigenous-led initiatives. By facilitating access to funding, we aim to catalyze projects that contribute to the prosperity and sustainability of Indigenous communities, fostering partnerships that are based on respect, mutual benefit, and shared goals for a better future.
